Amendment 0004

Question: With regards to the High-Performance Valves, The Bray distributor would like to know the material composition required for the Body, Seat & Disc.

Answer: The butterfly valves are described in specification section 23 05 23.13

Question: Is there a controls contractor that currently works for the FAA. Please advise.

Answer: FAA does not have a controls contractor under contract to perform this work. All controls are under this contract. The existing system is by Schneider Electric, per specification section 23 09 23. All new components must be compatible with the existing controls system.

Question: Are Bid Bonds required?

Answer: No, only payment and performance bonds are required.

Question: Please confirm that there is no asbestos abatement or hazmat removals required.

Answer: There is no asbestos or HazMat

Question: Please advise what is considered “off hours” for the facility for tie-in and testing.

Answer: Off hours is between 12 am -5 am

Question: Is there any special requirement for the Chemical Treatment Equipment shed to house the temporary treatment system?

Answer: Must be weather resistant and sturdy enough to withstand the weather.

Question: The detail on the drawings (A5/M504) call for the new configuration to relocate the check valve. Note 2 states “relocate check valve to provide min. 4 feet straight section of pipe from elbow”. There does not appear to be sufficient space to comply with this note. Please advise.

Answer: Relocate check valve to provide maximize distance between elbow and check valve.

We recognize that existing piping may not allow this distance to be 4 feet but contractor will be required to get as close as possible.

Question: Can we keep the temporary cooling towers/chillers staged on their trailer for the duration of the temp cooling period in lieu of constructing new temporary concrete pads? We can provide plywood, or other desired planking, to spread the load beneath the trailer wheels. There is potential for significant savings to sitework, landscaping, and rigging if this change is accepted.

Answer: Temporary cooling towers and pumps should be installed as shown on the drawings.

Question: Is the Leak Detection Cable desired for the temp piping too?

Answer: No leak detection is required. Heat trace is required on temporary piping

Question: What is the anticipated start date? Please confirm that the moratorium period on contracted work is NOT included in the 270 allowed construction days.

Answer: The start date is anticipated to be Late August/September. The moratorium is not included in the performance period of 270 days.

Question: Are drain pans required beneath temporary piping in the chiller room?

Answer: No

Can we grade and seed in lieu of new sod?

Answer: Area should be restored with sod.

Question: Does the FAA have a preference of the type/specification of Security Fencing needed to secure the temporary facilities?

Per drawing M03 the fence must be 8’ tall with top rail and locking gate. Temporary fencing can be installed on moveable bases
