Questions and Answers
1. This is no detail for the Lavatory Countertops in Rooms 229 and 231. Section added to
A-504 in Amendment 001.
2. The Partition Details on Plan Sheet A-560 show the Gypsum Board Partitions are to be attached to the structure above. What is the Measurement from the structural concrete floor to the Structure above? Original design drawings from 1958, received from the FAA, indicate 15’-9 ½” from top of 2nd floor concrete deck to concrete roof deck. 14” raised access floor was installed at the 2nd floor according to 2003 renovation drawings received from the FAA. All new walls are designed to start at the top of the existing raised access floor and then extend to underside of concrete roof structure above.
3. What is the Height of the Window Shade show on Plan Sheet IN-112? Will the Width be
4ft or 8ft.? The height of the window shades should be 4’-1”. Widths from mullion to mullion are just shy of 4’-0”. Coordinated all measurements with as built drawings, and field verify before purchase or installation.
4. FX001 General Note 15 states all cross mains shall terminate in 1-1/4 inch up to a maximum 2 inch pipe and references NFP13 § 8.16.3 which does NOT have a maximum limit. Is this note to be interpreted to mean that all cross mains must be reduced to 2” for flushing connections? It is not intended to limit cross main size. Note will be revised to state minimum 1-¼" or larger pipe.
5. FX110 identifies a new floor control valve located adjacent to column lines E-1. Project documents do not include any fire protection drawings of the first floor, or utility drawings showing how the existing piping is sized or routed from the city main to the new second floor control valve assembly. Please provide first floor fire protection drawings and utility drawings showing upstream pipe sizes and routing in order to perform hydraulic calculations to determine the pipe sizes required to meet the design criteria for the second floor. Refer to FX110 Amendment 1.
6. Drawings do not include any building sections. What is the second-floor elevation above grade? Original 1958 drawings, received from the FAA, indicate the ground finished floor to be at elevation 1273.00. The 2nd floor concrete structure is indicated to be at 1287.21.
14” raised access floor was added to the 2nd floor structure around 2003, thus raising the 2nd floor finished floor elevation.
7. Drawings do not include any structural drawings. Please provide framing plans for the structure above the second floor. Structure is not being modified. The expansion of the existing overbuilt concrete floor at the restrooms is shown on A-402. Recommend requesting as-built drawings from the FAA for existing structural information.
8. Specifications do not include a Division-21. Are fire protection specifications limited to FX001 General Notes and Compliance with NFPA-13 (2016)? Specifications are limited to general notes and Compliance with NFPA-13 (2022 edition).
