QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

6973GH-23-R-00143

20-042069 Mobile Test Bed Facility

1. Metal wall panels in the specification below is an abnormal panel that is not carried by many of the approved Metal Building suppliers. Is there a basis of design for this?

2.05 METAL WALL PANELS

A. Concealed-Fastener, Flush-Profile, Metal Wall Panels: Formed with vertical panel edges and [a single wide recess, centered between panel edges] [flush surface]; with flush joint between panels; with 1-inch- (25-mm-) wide flange for attaching interior finish; designed to be installed by lapping and interconnecting side edges of adjacent panels and mechanically attaching through panel to supports using concealed fasteners[ and factory-applied sealant] in side laps.

1. Material: Zinc-coated (galvanized) or aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel sheet, [0.024-inch

(0.61-mm)] [0.030-inch (0.76-mm)] nominal uncoated steel thickness. Pre-painted by the coil-coating process to comply with ASTM A755/A755M.

a. Exterior Finish: Fluoropolymer.

b. Color: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's full range.

2. Panel Coverage: 16 inches (406 mm).

3. Panel Height: 3 inches (76 mm).

Government Response: See revised Specification Section 13.34.19.

2. I have another set of questions for the building from the crane company.

The crane looks to be roughly 40' long and 22' wide, but do you have exact dimensions? And what is the overall/hook height?

Will you need an electric hoist?

Will you need a conductor bar or festooning?

Do you have a length for the 2 person fall arrest, and will it be a monorail?

Government Response: Crane is shown in plans as 38’-6”’(beam length) X 22’-8”(CL of columns) X 25’-0” to top of beam but final dimensions for crane to be field verified to operate within the bay and dimensions may change per selected crane manufacture. Electric hoist is noted in Equipment Schedule on Sheet A.201. Fall arrest system in noted in the

Equipment Schedule.

3. The prints (A-702) show that we are to use spray foam on the underside of the roof panels. This roof system is designed to be able to move slightly. If you spray foam the panels they will no longer be able to move as designed and would not come with a weather-tight warranty.

Government Response: See revised Sheet A-702. Spray foam removed from metal roof decking.
