Questions – Mobile IDIQ
Honestly, I suspect the new SOW isn’t complete, but perhaps it is… :
- no request for electrical power Electrical Power to be hooked up at site.
- no equipment cabinet or I/O called out Racks to be installed by FAA
- obviously the shelter is gone, thus no need for HVAC. That right? Trailers need
HVAC for active radio racks that will be populated.
- define “electro-mechanical retraction” please
Electric retraction (no hand winch, no gas)
- no callouts for what to do with those 16 coax on either end of those cable runs
These will be terminated by FAA in junction boxes and at antenna on top of tower.
FOR TRAILER WITH SHELTER:
1). Can the trailer length be a few feet longer, or the Shelter a few feet shorter? [Note: It is relatively easy to provide a 16’ shelter on a >36’ trailer base frame, OR a 12’ shelter on a 33’ trailer base frame without redesigning existing tower trailers now in production.] Otherwise, are you requiring a 16’ shelter that is 108” tall with a 50’ tower nested above it when stowed, on a trailer only 28’ long? Shelter minimum is based on rack spacing. Trailer can go a few feet longer for mounted tower if that is what existing productions have.
2). Does the shelter require any desks or workstations? Not in production. FAA would install after if necessary.
3). Do you have a conceptual layout drawing of the shelter and/or entire trailer so we can see what you envision? Row of 5 comm racaks and 1 demarc rack in the middle. We don’t want to supply a conceptual drawing to allow more existing productions to be acceptable.
4). What is the planned Tow Vehicle (capacity)? Not specified. Needs to follow DOT requirements for public road use without permitting.
5). What is preferred delivery timeline? Previously specified by CO
6). Shall we quote as all delivered to OKC? Yes, additional shipping costs can be assessed for different locations as needed.
7). Are some of the 16 RF cables to be used as spares? How many go to each antenna?
No, 2 cables to each antenna mount (8 on shelter tower, 8 on separate tower)
8). Shall the trailer and tower be galvanized? That is acceptable
FOR TRAILER WITH TOWER ONLY:
1). Please confirm if trailer needs any I/O connection points This will be installed after purchase.
2). Please confirm trailer has no on board power systems, neither DC nor AC (except for shore power cable for AC power for the OBS light) Trailer will be hooked up to commercial power for panel power. Power to trailer systems (brakes, lights, etc. will need to be powered.) No on-board E/G or Battery system needed.
3). Same questions as #4-8 above.
