About this file
This document is a technical specification and fabrication drawing set for rubber fenders for the Great Lakes Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation.
The fenders are available in two thickness options: 16 inches and 10 inches. Fabrication must conform to revised Drawing No. SLS-370-69/1A-R2 for the 16-inch fender and SLS-370-69/2A-R2 for the 10-inch fender, with all shop-drilled holes conforming to specified dimensional tolerances. The end view shows a trapezoidal cross-section measuring 21 inches ±1 inch at the base, 11 inches minimum at the top, with a 16-inch (or 10-inch) height and 5-inch minimum side sections. The side view depicts a 10-foot ±1-inch width with multiple mounting holes arranged in a grid pattern. All shop drawings must conform to dimensional tolerances as specified, with failure to meet tolerances potentially resulting in non-responsive offers. Fender manufacturers must submit certified rubber material properties, manufacturer qualifications, and approved shop drawings prior to fabrication. All pieces require proper handling, packaging, and shipping with dunnage to prevent damage and allow forklift insertion without compromising fender integrity. The materials shall meet or exceed requirements specified in the accompanying Statement of Work.
