About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Coverage Requirements document issued by Richardson Independent School District (RISD) in Texas for vendors and contractors engaged in the district's Bond Program Management Services contract, which supports a $1.4 billion bond program encompassing new construction, renovations, safety enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, and athletic and fine arts improvements. The document establishes mandatory insurance requirements that vendors must maintain throughout the contract duration, including Comprehensive General Liability Insurance with per-occurrence limits of $1,000,000, medical expense coverage of $5,000 per person, personal and advertising injury limits of $1,000,000, and general aggregate limits of $1,000,000. Additional requirements include Automobile Liability Insurance with combined single limits of $1,000,000 per accident and Workers Compensation Insurance at statutory limits. All policies must name RISD as an additional insured (except workers compensation) and provide 30-day notice of cancellation or material changes. Vendors must provide certificates of insurance or certificates of authority prior to contract commencement and maintain continuous coverage throughout the project duration by submitting updated certificates before current coverage expires.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring all subcontractors maintain identical insurance coverage amounts and types or alternatively include subcontractor activities within their own policies. Workers Compensation coverage must comply with Texas Labor Code requirements, with vendors required to file appropriate coverage agreements (DWC081, DWC082, DWC083, DWC084, or DWC085) based on proper classification codes and payroll reporting. Additionally, vendors must post notices at each project site in the format prescribed by the Texas Worker's Compensation Commission informing all service providers of coverage requirements and verification procedures. These requirements apply to all vendors and subcontractors for the entire duration of their engagement with RISD's bond program initiatives.
