About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for the Broward County Transportation Department's purchase and delivery of coolant extractor recovery machines for the BCT Bus Fleet, funded through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The project involves the supply and delivery of new, unused coolant extractor recovery machines to safely evacuate, store, and reinject coolant into the BCT Bus Fleet, with delivery required within thirty (30) business days after receipt of the County Purchase Order. All machines must arrive fully installed and in operating condition at Broward County Transit Copans Garage Building 2, Parts Department in Pompano Beach, Florida, via FOB Destination delivery during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., excluding County-approved holidays). The vendor may submit requests for approved equals prior to the solicitation due date of November 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST, with the County's response issued by addendum.

The vendor must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, including premises-operations, explosion/collapse/underground, products/completed operations, contractual liability, and broad form property damage coverage. Auto liability insurance with minimum combined bodily injury and property damage limits of $500,000 is required if driving will be performed, though this may be waived if no driving is involved in service delivery. Workers' compensation at statutory limits and employers' liability of $100,000 per accident are mandatory. Broward County must be named as an additional insured with primary coverage and waiver of subrogation, and the vendor must provide thirty (30) days' written notice of cancellation and ten (10) days' notice for non-payment cancellation. For claims-made policies, insurance must be maintained for at least three (3) years after contract completion. No proof of insurance is required if delivery is made by common carrier.
