About this file

This is an Exceptions Form for the Savannah Airport Commission (SAC) related to Request for Proposal 2026-0017 for Tree Trimming & Emergency Tree Debris Removal Services. The form requires prospective contractors to indicate whether they accept or request exceptions to the specified requirements across four primary categories: Scope of Services, Site Conditions/Safety/Operational Requirements, Traffic Control and Scheduling, and Emergency Tree Debris Removal Services. The Scope of Services requires removal of dead fronds and seed pods, fronds in contact with structures, trunk shaving, crown-raising of palms in accordance with ANSI A300 standards, and removal and off-campus disposal of all debris. The three-year agreement includes options for two additional one-year renewal terms at SAC's discretion, with work authorization from 7:00 AM through 5:00 PM on weekdays for routine trimming and emergency response capability within two hours for after-hours events.

Site conditions require contractors to use tracked lifts to minimize ground disturbance, perform work only when ground conditions are dry and firm, coordinate with the Airport Grounds Manager prior to mobilization, and restore any disturbed turf, soil, irrigation, or landscaping to original condition. Contractors are fully responsible for all damage to airport infrastructure and property resulting from work activities and must repair such damage at their own expense. Additional requirements include compliance with OSHA regulations and ANSI A300 standards, airport security and badging protocols, designation of a licensed arborist for work supervision, proper traffic control measures in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation guidelines, and provision of emergency response services for vegetative debris removal resulting from inclement weather events including hurricanes, tropical storms, and severe thunderstorms. Contractors must provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials, including chainsaws, chippers, loaders, and hauling equipment, for safe and efficient debris removal operations.
