About this file
This is an Insurance Requirements document for the Broward County Transportation Department's purchase and delivery of refrigerant recovery machines for the BCT bus fleet. The project requires vendors to supply and deliver brand new refrigerant recovery machines that are fully installed and assembled, ready to operate upon arrival. The machines must safely recover, evacuate, and recharge multiple refrigerants for transit bus maintenance. Delivery is desired within ten business days after receipt of the County Purchase Order, with delivery required during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., excluding County-approved holidays) to the Broward County Transit Copans Garage Building 2, Parts Department located at 3201 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida. All labor, shipping, delivery, offloading, and associated charges must be included in the unit price with no additional charges permitted. Delivery shall be by FOB Destination, and the successful vendor must comply with Federal Transit Administration requirements and complete applicable USDOT Funding Supplement forms.
The insurance requirements specify minimum coverage limits of $500,000 each for General Liability (Bodily Injury, Property Damage, and Combined), with $500,000 Bodily Injury coverage for Auto Liability if applicable. Excess Liability/Umbrella coverage may supplement minimum requirements. Employers Liability coverage of $100,000 per accident and Statutory Workers' Compensation limits are required. Broward County must be designated as an additional insured with primary coverage, a waiver of subrogation, and no requirement for County contribution. The County requires 30 days' written notice of cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment. For Claims-Made policies, insurance must be maintained and evidence provided for at least three years after contract completion. No proof of insurance is required if delivery will be by common carrier.
