About this file
This document is a U.S. Coast Guard Computerized Maintenance System form for inspecting a tractor fire system on a WPB-87 vessel. The maintenance procedure, revised on 05/15/23, provides detailed instructions for a contractor to conduct an annual inspection of the fire suppression system, with specific focus on CO2 cylinders, discharge hoses, and fusible links. Critical steps include scheduling depot-level work, completing an equipment lockout/tags-plus process, verifying contractor tests, checking hydrostatic test dates for CO2 cylinders, and ensuring proper installation of a new 360-degree fusible link (P/N: 302810).
The document includes multiple safety warnings about handling hazardous materials and potential risks during the maintenance process. Quality assurance (QA) is required at two stages: verifying CO2 cylinder test dates and checking compliance of inboard and outboard discharge hoses. After the inspection, technicians must notify appropriate personnel of any discrepancies, restore equipment to readiness, and complete the maintenance documentation in the Electronic Asset Logbook. The procedure emphasizes the importance of using an authorized marine fire extinguishing system inspector and following specific Coast Guard instructions throughout the maintenance process.
