About this file
This document is an Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce (E-Sign) Agreement page for the County of Bergen, New Jersey, establishing the legal framework for electronic procurement through the Bonfire e-procurement solution platform. The agreement enables authorized representatives of vendors to execute a single electronic signature that serves as their official signature for submitting bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and other offers to participating local units within Bergen County. The electronic signature remains valid for one year from the date of execution and eliminates the need for vendors to provide individual signatures on separate documents for each transaction with different local units in the county, provided the participating local unit does not explicitly request unique documents or forms.
The agreement requires that the signatory be an authorized individual acting on behalf of the vendor and must include the authorized individual's name, title, phone number, email address, and date of signature. This streamlined process leverages New Jersey's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) and the federal E-Sign Act to facilitate modernized procurement practices across Bergen County's local units while maintaining legal validity and proper record-keeping in accordance with state and federal requirements.
