About this file
This is a laboratory results report prepared by STL – Reading for the Brodhead Creek Regional Authority (BCRA) documenting the analysis of washed grit and screenings collected from the Authority's wastewater treatment plant facility located at 6 South 4th Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The sample was collected on September 10, 2025, at 9:45 AM and analyzed under work order 5I03537 in accordance with regulatory compliance testing requirements. The analysis encompasses comprehensive testing including inorganic parameters, leachate analysis, TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) extraction, metals testing, pesticide and PCB screening, herbicide analysis, semivolatile organic compound testing, volatile organic analysis, and wet chemistry assessment. Key results indicate ammonia as nitrogen at 73.4 mg/kg dry weight, pH of 6.85, sulfate levels of 472 mg/kg dry weight, total solids of 33.7 percent, and chemical oxygen demand of 9,840 mg/kg dry weight. All tested metals including arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, and zinc were detected below the method detection limits, and all pesticide and PCB analytes tested were either non-detected or below detection limits.
The laboratory results demonstrate that the washed grit and screenings meet established quality parameters for disposal and management purposes, with no free liquids detected and reactive cyanide and reactive sulfide both below detectable levels. The report was generated on October 13, 2025, and has been peer reviewed and released by Abigail Cunningham, Associate Project Manager. All analyses were performed at SPL – Reading under the laboratory's NELAP accreditation for Pennsylvania DEP and multiple other regulatory authorities. These analytical results support the Brodhead Creek Regional Authority's 2026 annual sludge removal bid process, which solicits sealed bids for the removal and proper disposal of biosolids from the wastewater treatment plant facility.
