3/8" laminated glass will be used as noted in the specification.

3 5/13/2021 Please confirm aluminum and glass partitions are to have a powder coated finish per specification in amendment 1?
Yes, system will have a power coated finish.

4 5/13/2021 The project has 4 types of partition designs to use, I am concerned about two, Partition B1 and Partition C1:
1. Partition B1 2-1/2” studs spaced 24” oc with STC over 50 – there is no sound rated assembly available with STC over 50 for this stud thickness and spacing. The 2-1/2” studs have been tested with 2 layers on one side and a single layer of 5/8” on the other side, studs spacing 16” oc, not 24”, with STC 44. You would need to use 3-5/8” framing to be able to achieve STC over 50.
2.Partition C1 a.Partition C1 requires STC over 60 with 3-5/8” studs. The only 3- 5/8” stud assembly capable to handle STC 60 that I was able to find was with a single layer of Quiet Rock 545 drywall on each side and 3-5/8” studs 20ga 33 mil thick spaced 16”. Expensive material but lower labor cost.
Partition type B1:
STC 44 is acceptable. IRS standard for STC zones are - General offices: STC 40-45 and Meeting/Conference Areas: STC 60-64. We are restrained on spacing in general offices, bumping stud size will cause issues.
Partition type C:
Any method is acceptable. Contractor is responsible for means and methods to meet design intent.
