Amendment 06 is issued to provide further clarification on the following RFI’s:

RFI Q12. (Initially answered in Amendment 05)

Line Item Pricing Schedule item 0011, “Install government furnished demountable partition, A. Gypsum Board, B. Glass Partition”

No demountable partition spec found, gypsum board or glass, will you provide intended basis of design for bid purpose?

Answer: No this for the installation of government furnished wall sections.

Further question we need to know what we are installing?

Response: Gypsum Partitions are the basis of design.

RFI Q13. (Initially answered in Amendment 05)

Line Item Pricing Schedule item 0017, “Furnish and Install Sprinkler Head”

Does GSA currently retain a fire sprinkler contractor for maintenance of existing fire sprinkler systems? If so, can you provide contractor name and contact info?

Answer: The operations and maintenance contractor of each building provides general maintenance of the sprinkler systems. This is specific to each building and will be provided at the time of task order.

Further question, Spec section Sprinkler System Modifications (pages 953-991 of 1540) may require the Sprinkler contractor to provide certain accessories, for example 2.12 Pressure Maintenance Pump (page 980), 2.13 backflow preventor (page 981), or

2.17 Pressure Guages (page 983), further require substantial testing (page 985), and updated CAD drawings (page 990).

These items are not incidental to a typical sprinkler head removal or addition which we would understand from the Line Item price list (pages 41-43), direction is needed on what to include and exclude from unit price.

Response: Price the removal and replacement of an existing sprinkler head onto existing pipe with relocation to center the head on a ceiling tile.

RFI Q14. (Initially answered in Amendment 05)

Line Item Pricing Schedule item 0018, “Furnish and install light fixture, A. 2x2’ layin, B. 2x4’ Layin, C. 1x4’ Layin”

Neither PBS-P100 nor Division 26 spec lists specific fixture types, lenses, lamps, etc., will you provide intended basis of design for bid purpose?

Answer: This is specific to each building and will be provided at the time of task order.

Further question, as a basis of design for bidding purposes we should include fluorescent light fixtures to meet minimum Division

26 spec, acrylic lens, is this correct?

Response: Price a fixture that meets the minimum requirements of Division 26.

RFI Q15. (Initially answered in Amendment 05)

Line Item Pricing Schedule item 0020, “Furnish & Install E. Fire Alarm Speaker/ Strobe Device

Does GSA currently retain a fire alarm contractor for maintenance of existing fire alarm systems? If so, can you provide contractor name and contact info?

Answer: The operations and maintenance contractor of each building provides general maintenance of the sprinkler systems. This is specific to each building and will be provided at the time of task order.

Further question, Fire Alarm Spec Section 28 31 04 includes, among others, programming, coordination with other systems, monitoring, detailed drawings, calculations, and further requirements not incidental to a typical fire alarm speaker/strobe device removal or addition which we would understand from the Line Item price list (pages 41-43), direction is needed on what to include and exclude from unit price.

Response: Include the installation of the fire alarm speaker / strobe on existing wiring and programming required to make the device operational.

RFI Q17. (Initially answered in Amendment 05)

We would very much appreciate your response as to allowing two (2) separate pricing sheets, one (1) for Cook County and one (1) for

Winnebago County, due to the disparity in wage rates, and as well the geographical distance from downtown Chicago, Cook County.

Answer in Amendment 05: The price proposal should include an executed copy of the SF 1442, acknowledgment of all amendments and completion of the line item pricing schedule. Pricing should not be split up into zones.

Further question, this Project lists work at 13 Federal Buildings in Chicago (see Building Profiles, page 2 of 1540)

Solicitation title includes Winnebago County (Rockford) (also see 1.3 A. Project Locations page 449 of 1540)

Do you anticipate any work outside of listed 13 Federal Buildings? If so, what % of Project?

Response: GSA aides other federal agencies in the geographic region with the maintenance of leased locations. The IDIQ contractors are occasionally invited to give proposals for work in these buildings. The pricing included in this proposal is not applicable to these locations and will be determined on a case by case basis.
