About this file

This document provides details for a federal solicitation to replace the fire alarm system at the James L. King Federal Justice Building in Miami, Florida. The General Services Administration Southeast Sunbelt Region 4 is seeking proposals for a design-build project to install a new automatic fire alarm system throughout the 315,716 gross square foot building. Proposers must have experience designing and installing fire alarm systems that meet all applicable codes and standards including PBS-P100, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101. The scope of work involves removing the existing system and replacing all initiating devices, notification devices, wiring, tamper switches, flow switches, modules and other components with the exception of the new main fire alarm control panel and remote annunciator recently installed. Proposals are due no later than July 24, 2020. The selected contractor must complete both design and construction within 400 calendar days of the notice to proceed in order to minimize disruption to the occupied facility.
