RFI (Q& A)
August 25, 2020
1. The type of material they want for the sheet metal flashing and counter flashing at the walls and curbs. Copper or 24 gauge per-finished steel? RESPONSE: Match existing materials or provide materials that won't cause electrolytic corrosion with existing materials. At minimum, follow recommendations in the NRCA roofing manual.
2. Are the walls [sealants] now excluded? RESPONSE: Sealants are excluded from walls, except where the new roof cover ties into them.
3. Is there a break in the roof where they want to stop the new roof like an expansion joint? Is the line noted in the revised area work an actual joint, or just a point of reference? RESPONSE: The dashed line shown on the illustration in Section 1.B.3 is an approximate location for new area separator curbs. However, on-site verification is required based on drainage flow at the perimeter roof saddles.
