If special systems devices and wiring is required, please provide specifications and preferred vendor since Drawing 1b-FA-101, Note 5 indicates that modifications to the building Fire Alarm System must be performed by the current building maintenance contractor (at the construction contractor’s expense).

Response: All cabling pertaining to Fire alarm devices is shown on the Fire Alarm Riser Diagram (drawing 1B-FA-101). For additional information, refer to Electrical Specifications Section 283100- Automatic Voice Alarm System (fire Detection and Alarm). Fire Alarm Vendor information shall be confirmed by the Building Management. Existing Fire Alarm System is a Notifier system. Existing CCTV and Access Control devices are to be removed and re-installed only, no replacement. Existing wiring may be required to be extended. In this case, wiring shall match existing.

29. Clarify if the new Fire Pump Service Switch 400A/3P/600V should be furnished and installed by the contractor. If so, please confirm that it should be considered as a typical disconnect switch with a N-4X enclosure (See Drawing 1b-E-101).

Response: The new Fire Pump Service Switch shall be provided by the successful bidder as shown on the documents. Provide heavy duty service rated disconnect switch.

30. Clarify if a fire pump battery backup system should be furnished and installed by the contractor. If so, please provide information (manufacturer, specifications, etc.). Note #3 on Drawing 1b-E-101, indicates to refer to plumbing drawing 1i-P-101 for additional information but we could not find any information on that drawing.

Response: This battery back-up system (Pony pump) information is indicated on the RFP drawings (drawing 1g-P-101) and shall be provided by successful offeror.

31. The following symbol appears on Drawing 1b-E-401, updated one-line diagram .

What does this symbol stand for: New junction box? new splicing box? new panelboard? Etc.
