About this file

This is Construction Bid Addendum No. 1 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), State Facilities Administration Design and Construction Division for the Baraga Correctional Facility Replace and Repair Back Up Fuel System Blender project (File Number 472/19087.RAA). The addendum was issued on September 6, 2019, with a bid opening date of September 25, 2019. The project involves replacing and repairing the backup fuel system blender at the correctional facility and is being procured through a Design Build delivery method. The addendum includes eleven items that clarify and modify the original bidding documents, including allowable work hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, coordination of a 24-Hour Burn Test scheduled for June 2020, and snow removal responsibilities within the fenced area. Additional requirements include installation of a new UPS system to maintain vaporizer operation during power outages, provision of an additional LGL pump as attic stock, weed control spraying within the fenced propane blender area, and review and testing of the existing Drive Hub/Love Joy assembly prior to the burn test.

The Design Build Entity must provide equipment sizing calculations approved by a professional engineer based on current facility demand and submit design specifications for the propane blender unit in accordance with Technical Specification 231000 Facility Fuel Systems. The bidder is responsible for painting all piping and equipment (excluding the propane tank) and proper disposal of system glycol per specification requirements. Bidders were required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the bid summary and bid form, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection. The addendum became part of the contract documents upon issuance by Project Director Jeff Barsch on September 6, 2019.
