About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for the Salt Lake City Corporation, specifically the Department of Airports, detailing snow hauling equipment rental and operator services. The City seeks contractor-provided equipment and licensed operators for snow removal and cleanup services following winter storms at the Salt Lake City airport and surrounding facilities. Equipment specifications include dump trucks ranging from 3-axle 8-yard capacity to 5-axle 14-yard capacity, a Caterpillar D400 Haul Pac truck with 33-yard capacity, a Caterpillar D980 loader, and a 50-degree tilt side dump trailer. The contractor must maintain 24-hour, 7-day-per-week availability including holidays, with service required within two hours of callout. Equipment must arrive at the site with full fuel tanks and remain available for up to four consecutive days as needed. Contractors must provide all necessary licensed, experienced operators and are responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs at their own expense.
The contractor assumes full responsibility for any damage to City property caused by negligence or abuse and must ensure all employees maintain current Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) compliance, including security training and ten-year background checks. All employees must display security badges above the waist and below the neck on outermost clothing, with a $100 fee assessed per non-returned badge. Contractors must complete work-order forms documenting hours worked, equipment used, and services provided following each service call. The scope permits contractors to respond to service requests from other City departments with written approval from the Airport Airfield Maintenance Division, with all services billed at rates specified in the RFB response and invoices sent directly to the requesting department. No guarantee of minimum service requirements is implied by the agreement, with actual service needs determined solely by Airport designee determination.
