About this file

This is a renewal quote from Internet Archive to Utah State Archives and Records Services for Archive-It web archiving services. Archive-It is a subscription-based web archiving service that has been in operation since 2005 and is utilized by over 900 institutions, including state libraries, archives, university libraries, public libraries, museums, local city governments, and non-profit organizations. The contract is structured as a five-year agreement with subscription periods beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2030. The service provides automated web application management, data hosting with online access, perpetual storage of two data copies (primary and backup), text search indexing, URL browsing capability, data download functionality at any time, and technical support including production application training and detailed documentation.

Three subscription tiers are offered with varying storage capacities and annual costs. Option 1 provides 1.25 TB (1,280 GB) of archival capacity annually for $15,000 per year, totaling $75,000 for the five-year period if paid in a lump sum. Option 2 offers 2 TB (2,048 GB) of annual capacity for $24,000 per year, totaling $120,000 for five years when prepaid. Option 3 provides 3 TB (3,072 GB) of annual capacity for $30,000 per year, totaling $150,000 for the five-year commitment if paid upfront. All subscription options include no additional fees for hosting, software updates, maintenance, or new releases. Multi-year subscriptions may be paid either annually or as a single upfront payment, and the Utah State Archives and Records Services is pursuing this contract as a sole-source procurement without engaging in a standard competitive bidding process.
