About this file
This is an Elevated Storage Tank Inspection Report prepared for the Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA) in Georgia regarding the Grant Road Elevated Storage Tank removal project. The report documents a comprehensive inspection of the 1.0 million gallon elevated steel storage tank located at 4342 Grant Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294. The inspection evaluates the structural condition, integrity, and safety status of the tank to inform the removal process. The report includes detailed findings on the tank's construction materials, current condition, identified deficiencies, and recommendations for safe demolition and removal procedures. This inspection report serves as supporting documentation for the CCWA's solicitation for experienced contractors to remove both the Grant Road tank and the associated 0.5 million gallon Barnett Road Elevated Storage Tank located in Forest Park, GA.
The inspection report provides technical baseline information necessary for contractors to develop accurate removal proposals and project budgets. The detailed condition assessment and structural analysis contained within the report enable bidders to understand existing site conditions, potential hazards, and removal complexities that may impact labor requirements, equipment needs, and overall project timelines. This documentation supports the CCWA's two-phase procurement approach for the removal of both elevated storage tanks by ensuring all interested contractors have access to the same technical information regarding tank condition and characteristics.
