About this file

This is a demolition plan document prepared by HDR Engineering, Inc. for the Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA) regarding the removal of an elevated storage tank located at 4342 Grant Road, Ellenwood, Georgia. The project involves the demolition of a 1.0 million gallon elevated steel storage tank with an overall height of 160 feet from pier to overflow. The site encompasses 0.69 acres (30,170 square feet) and is bounded by Grant Road and Anvil Block Road, with the property owned by Walmart Real Estate Business Trust. Key demolition requirements include removal of the water tower to foundation level, removal of fill, drain, and overflow piping to the first mechanical joint in the ground vault, capping of concrete openings with aluminum diamond plate covers sealed with exterior-grade silicone sealant, and removal of any antennas or communication equipment. The plan specifies that Grant Road and the road entrance must remain closed during active demolition activity, and contractors are required to field verify tank dimensions and remove fencing as needed for access.

The demolition plan references Specification Sections 01 11 00 (Summary of Work) and 02 41 00 (Demolition) for detailed demolition requirements and contractor obligations. This project is part of a larger CCWA initiative to remove two elevated storage tanks, with a second tank (0.5 million gallon) located at 101 Barnett Road, Forest Park, Georgia. The plan was prepared by project manager Kristina Yanosek with a project date of November 13, 2025, and project number 10413963CCWA. The document includes a site elevation detail and photograph reference to support contractor understanding of the existing tank conditions and site configuration.
