About this file

This document is a Bid Security and Performance Bond for the City of Tallahassee, Florida, specifically for the Wednesday Street Water Main Replacement project (IFB NO. 014-26-RM). The project involves the installation of approximately 2,505 linear feet of new water main, including associated valves, services, meters, fire hydrants, and fittings. The scope of work encompasses infrastructure replacement activities such as sediment and erosion control, material disposal, traffic maintenance, and restoration of disturbed areas including driveways, curb and gutter, and pavement. The contractor will be required to provide arboricultural mitigation for impacted trees and secure road closure requests after submitting acceptable Temporary Traffic Control plans.

The bond document indicates a requirement for bid security of at least 5% of the base bid, with the successful bidder required to enter into a contract and provide a performance surety bond equal to 100% of the contract sum within 10 consecutive calendar days of award notification. The project does not involve federal funding, which means federal provisions do not apply. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST, to be conducted via Microsoft Teams. The contract includes a two-year guarantee period for all work, materials, and equipment, during which the contractor must remedy any defects or damages.
