About this file

This is a Payment Bond document for the City of Fort Worth, Texas, related to a Brick Pavement Rehabilitation Unit Price Contract for various projects. The contract involves the repair and/or replacement of brick pavement, brick sidewalks, brick curb ramps, concrete curb and gutter, curbs, ramps, sidewalks, and driveways. The contract is structured as a unit price contract, allowing the City to order work as needed rather than committing to a full project scope. The contract may be renewed for up to two additional terms upon expiration of contract funds, with a maximum total contract duration of five years from the initial effective date. The principal contractor and surety must execute this payment bond in compliance with Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code to ensure all payment bond beneficiaries are paid for materials, equipment, labor, and services provided in the prosecution of the work.

The payment bond requires the principal and a corporate surety authorized to do business in Texas to guarantee payment in a penal sum to be determined at contract award. The bond must be executed in an amount sufficient to cover all monies owed to payment bond beneficiaries as defined by Texas Government Code Chapter 2253. The bond must be dated no earlier than the contract award date and executed by authorized agents of both the principal and surety, with supporting documentation including certified extracts from the surety's bylaws demonstrating signing authority. The City's contract budget may be less than the total bid amount, and the City is not obligated to award the contract for the full bid value, allowing flexibility in project execution based on available funding.
