ADDENDUM NUMBER 003 - REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: 377044 - SCHEDULING SOFTWARE
AND MAINTENANCE
Hanford Mission Integration Solutions, LLC. (HMIS) hereby amends Request for Proposal authorized per Section A.2-Request for Proposal Addendums to provide the following information below.
Question (Q) & Answer (A)
Q1: Can we get more information about the items regarding the console? Which console are you referencing? Additionally, provide information about what is being done with the console/activity messages.
HMIS Response to Q1:
The console is a visual log of what is currently running within the system. It shows Jobset/jobs starting and completing throughout the day. It shows messages as they are sent to specific users as well as files that are sent. It also will display alerts/aborts at the top if a job has failed.
The message on the console screen could cause an email to be sent based on stored actions to be performed and information in the message itself. Requirement number 8 and 10 are examples.
It can be a message that could cause scheduling actions to be performed, such as scheduling a job to be processed. Requirement number 14, 24 and 32. Number 31 and 32 refers a console log screen being available for monitoring.
Q2: Can we get more details on what is being asked for this requirement below? PWS Line 16 - Ability to have multiple jobs grouped into a single set to process with [ ... ]
HMIS Response to Q2: Within Unicenter the parent object is the Jobset and it contains either 1 (one) job or multiple jobs. Normally this JobSet has 1 (one) calendar as to when it scans to be processed with its job(s) and the time when it should start. The job(s) in this JobSet can have their own dependencies if needed, their own specific calendar aside from the parent JobSet, and their own start time aside from the parent JobSet start time.
Q3: Location of Appendix B and C are mentioned in the RFP description.
HMIS Response to Q3: Appendix B – Cyber Security Provisions (See page 9 to 11) and Appendix C – Contractor Document Submittal Form (CDSF) (See page 11), is located within the Performance Work Statement (Attachment 1).
Q4: Request understanding of the following:
a. What is the solution you are migrating from?
HMIS Response to Q4.a: Currently utilizing an older version of “UniCenter” Software product.
b. How many jobs per day or per month are executed in the current production environment?
HMIS Response to Q4.b: As stated in the PWS: ~351,000 successful batch job counts a year with a monthly average of 29,221 in the current production environment. Nonproduction (Test) runs ~15,000 a month totaling 180,000 for the year in the Test environment.
c. How many defined jobs are there in each environment that you looking migrate?
HMIS Response to Q4.c: Environment “servers” where we have UniCenter installed is 9. In Production there are ~351,000 successful batch job counts a year with a monthly average of 29,221;
there is also a Test Environment (Nonproduction) runs ~15,000 a month totaling 180,000 for the year in the Test environment.
d. Assumption is an on-premise implementation, correct?
HMIS Response to Q4.d: Hanford is currently utilizing an on-premise software product currently and anticipate it to be the same unless there is a FED -RAMP certified Medium to HIGH cloud option that fits all requirements.
Q5: In Addendum 001, HMIS specified that “The current successful batch job counts for Production is ~351,000 a year with a monthly average of 29,221 (qty monthly average count).” Can you please provide a monthly breakdown of how many successful monthly job executions you are running in Unicenter today (over the last 12 months)? Additionally, Please include both production & nonproduction jobs
HMIS Response to Q5: The Production numbers are 351,000 is the count over a 12 month period with an average of 29,221 monthly. NonProduction (Test) runs ~15,000 a month totaling 180,000 for the year in the Test environment.
Q6: Can you please specify how many unique/defined Unicenter jobs you are running in your production instance today?
HMIS Response to Q6: 1832 unique jobs
Q7: How many environments of Unicenter do you currently run? How many environments/instances would you like to run in your new scheduling tool?
HMIS Response to Q7: Environment “servers” where we have UniCenter installed is 9.
Q8: Is Autosys an option? Or are you considering other scheduling tools as well?
HMIS Response to Q8: HMIS is open to all scheduling solutions that meet requirements.
Please acknowledge addendum via proposal submission.
All questions are to be directed to the Procurement Specialist via email. HMIS looks forward to your response.
