About this file

The document is a Questions and Answers file for a U.S. Coast Guard standby generator procurement at Tillamook Bay Station. Key technical details include a requirement for a 150KW diesel-powered generator with a 600-amp automatic transfer switch and a 48-hour fuel tank, with several specific technical specifications discussed. Notably, the generator is for backup power expected to run indefinitely during storms, requires UL2200 certification, and will use a double-wall UL-142 tank with a switched neutral configuration. Additional specifications include an indoor ATS placement, preference for a stainless-steel enclosure, and no requirement for remote monitoring.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation by the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Coast Guard, seeking quotes for the generator package to be delivered to USCG Station Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi, Oregon. The procurement will follow a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method, with quotes due on 09/24/25 at 12pm PST. Vendors must submit quotes on SF1449 with a comprehensive cost breakdown, and must be registered in the System Award Management (SAM) to be considered. The contracting officer is Patrick Stewart, and questions about the solicitation must be submitted via email by 09/24/25.
