87. Phase 3 notes state that in order to complete the connecting corridor, new building 50 must be complete. As of the writing of this RFI Submission Log, this building has not been released for bidding and there is no schedule for the building. Without a schedule for the new building 50, it is impossible to determine the timeline or pricing of the corridor. Since the two projects are not coordinated at this time to the bidders, please confirm that Building 50 will be complete prior to structural top out of the Rehab project since the corridor construction, elevations, and routing are dictated by both buildings. If this confirmation cannot be provided and/or no schedule is available, please confirm that pricing for the corridor should assume it would be constructed in a typical fashion as it relates to this project in terms of trade mobilizations (i.e. when concrete is poured out for foundations, all foundations will be available including the corridor). If this cannot be confirmed, should the corridor be priced as a separate mobilization for all trades?
This approach would be more expensive than constructing the corridor with the new building.
Please advise.
a) VA Response: The construction contract awards for the two projects are expected to occur at approximately the same time.
