# Question Answer

33. Can the Government please provide clarification as to who is expected to supply the FF&E? Per the SOW P. 1 of 6, All furnishing and equipment will be provided by the St. Cloud VAMC. However, in SOW P. 3 of 6, Item K it states "The furnishing for the office areas and exam rooms will be a combination of contractor and VA supplied. In the Reception area the contractor shall supply work surfaces, overhead storage units with task lighting and IT connections as described in this document."

All “built in” furnishings are to be supplied by the contractor.

The offices and exam rooms furnishings will be supplied by the Government. The intent of the statement "The furnishing for the office areas and exam rooms will be a combination of contractor and VA supplied.” was to bring awareness that there will be a mixture thought the building. The reception area description is correct in its statement.

34. In regards to question 11, regarding the use of STC rated assemblies as requested by the Government, I am a bit confused. The reason for my confusion is that on question 23 it was asked if “VCG is acceptable or if you wanted tape and texture?”

The Government responded that VCG is acceptable. There is no STC 50 listed assembly that I am aware of that uses Vinyl wrapped gypsum board (I spoke with a technical rep from National Gypsum and they are unaware of one either). We could provide a double layer of 5/8” gypsum and mud and tape and sound caulk the first layer and provide Vinyl Covered Gypsum for the second layer which I am quite certain would meet the STC 50, but again there is no listed assembly showing that illustrates that… Could the Government please clarify these two (what I believe to be contradictory) requirements? Otherwise depending on how one interprets the answers an unfair advantage would be presented….

This to be a means and methods issue. The STC rating is required. The use of either the VCG finish, or the mud and tape finish, will be acceptable, if the rating can still be met. It is up to the contractor to determine the best method and create the best value.
