In those same areas they are calling for complete scaffolding as well. If we are using fences to keep people away from any construction, are we also needing scaffolding there?
Fencing & protective scaffolding required.

6. In the middle of Building 1 there is an upper shingle area where they have called for Scaffolding and overhead protection for a sidewalk. This is a very small area of walkway, are we able to fence this area off instead of using scaffolding in this area? It is a construction zone, and they didn’t call out any fencing in that area that I could see.
G1003 requires fence & multiple scaffolding types, including off hours work. Adhere to contract.

ref Building 50
13. This building only has 1 entrance. All other construction areas are extremely far from any walkways. Can we use scaffolding w/ overhead protection just a certain distance in either direction of that entrance? Fencing is called for surrounding the entire area so that should suffice.

Plans and specifications require the minimum precautions. Contractor shall include additional precautions per their work sequence, means and methods. Fall protection according to the VA safety specification is required even with the designed scaffolding system.

We would like to note that the GAF Weather Max 30-GR shingles have only an 80mph wind rating (please see attached flyer) and is a 3-tab shingle basis of design. The Timberline basis of design is a architectural shingle and not in the same category as the Weather Max design. This was referenced in the spec, and we just wanted to note the difference.

27. According to the drawings, building 100 is supposed to have a new standing seam metal roof installed, but after the site visit and reviewing the specs, it appears that building 100 is to have matching corrugated metal panels to match existing installed. Agreed. New overhang roof is to be corrugated metal. Existing product is a Morton building product. On the underside of the sheet metal states “108 Midwest Morton RCK MOB’L 9-13 83”. Match as close as reasonable. Morton confirmed their product has remained unchanged since the 80’s.
