About this file
This document is a Justification for a Single Source Award under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for a fire alarm programming requirement at the Fresno VA Medical Center. The requirement is for four visits to program the fire alarm system for elevator modernizations, to be performed by the incumbent contractor Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) who has proprietary control and rights over the existing fire alarm system. The total estimated value is not provided. Market research was conducted, and the VA is required to use JCI due to the proprietary nature of the fire alarm system.
The related federal contract opportunity is for the modernization of four elevators at the Fresno VA Medical Center, with a period of performance of 365 calendar days from notice to proceed. The requirement includes furnishing and installing new traction elevator systems, with specific equipment and performance requirements. Proposals are due by August 30, 2024 at 10:00am PT.
