ATTACHMENT 1 – RFI Q&A
1. Drawing M-102 (Page 31) shows AC-2 serving Equipment Room MRI-4. The drawings indicate that this is a completely enclosed system meaning that there is no outside air or powered exhaust. It will only recirculate air in MRI-4. AC-1 is a Bard Unit with a booster fan that serves air to the remaining spaces in MRI. The supply from AC-1 is ducted to all the other spaces in the MRI, with the exception of MRI-4, and the return is ducted back to MRI-4 through a transfer grille.
a. What is the design intent? Are we relying on AC-1 to recirculate the air coming back through the transfer grill?
i. Yes. AC-1 will recirculate the air from the transfer grille.
