About this file

This is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document providing clarifications on the Kitchen Hood Cleaning Service solicitation for the Sheridan VA Health Care System. The document addresses operational and technical details for exhaust hood cleaning services across two facilities: Building 86 Canteen and Building 7 Kitchen.

Building 86 Canteen contains two separate exhaust hoods—a main kitchen hood measuring 12'6" long (Hobart Econo Vent model NFS1112) with an 78" height and a serving line hood of 4'6" long (Hobart Econo Vent model NFS113) also at 78" height. Building 7 Kitchen houses two back-to-back exhaust hoods each measuring 16' long (Moli-Tron model) at 81" height with a self-washing system, plus a separate 7' serving line hood (Moli-Tron) at 78" height. The total system includes five filters across all locations. Cleaning operations at Building 86 must occur Monday-Friday between 2:00pm and 2:00am the following day, while Building 7 cleaning must be completed Monday-Friday between 7:00pm and 4:30am the next morning before shift change. The contractor is responsible for providing all personnel, labor, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to complete the work. The FAQ also clarifies that cleaning months can be relocated to October and April upon award while maintaining a six-month interval between cleanings, and confirms the solicitation is a Small Business set-aside rather than the originally listed SDVOSB set-aside.
