About this file

This document is an Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract (Standard Form 30) for a Department of Veterans Affairs solicitation numbered 36C25725Q0400 related to an acid waste tank repair project. The amendment, numbered 0002 and effective 03-31-2025, extends the offer receipt deadline to 04-11-2025 at 12:00 PM CDT and includes a response to a vendor question about hazardous material and safety.

The government's response to the vendor's request for more specifics about tank contents indicates that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) have been provided with liquid amounts and handling procedures. The VA emphasizes that the contractor is responsible for determining the best removal method in compliance with local regulations while maintaining safety, acknowledging that the exact water dilution and daily system introduction cannot be precisely predetermined.

Question: Can the VA provide more specific information about what is in the tank to be removed and disposed of?

Government response: The Government provided the amounts / types of liquids for removal in the SDS sheets. Sheets discuss handling procedures for each fluid. There is no way for the Government to determine how much water is introduced into the system daily, and no way to verify how diluted the fluids are. It is up to the contractor to determine best method for removal in accordance with local laws and regulations for each fluid while ensuring proper safety is maintained throughout the process.
