About this file

This document contains technical specifications for an adaptive lighting control system and related federal contract opportunity. The adaptive lighting control system specifications cover an ALC load control that uses a three-stage PWM charging process and features such as low-voltage disconnect, load timer functions, and LED status indicators. The specifications provide details on operating parameters, component ratings, and certifications.

The associated federal contract opportunity is a request for quote from the Department of Veterans Affairs for repair and retrofitting of solar street and parking lot lighting at a facility in Temple, Texas. The solicitation is set aside for service-disabled veteran owned small businesses and offers are due by July 15, 2022. The document provides site visit details, points of contact, and instructions for submitting technical questions and quotes for the firm-fixed price contract.

ALC Load Control Features

The ALC is a commercial-grade charge controller that is suitable for all SEPCO LED lighting applications. This high-quality, dual charge / load controller uses a 3-stage

PWM-charging process for sealed batteries, combined with amazing load features such as: low-voltage disconnect, flexible load timer functions, and a multi-LED system status display, adaptive lighting controls, high voltage disconnect, 12 or 24 VDC.

The ALC has no moving parts, switches or buttons. It can be exposed to extreme weather / environmental conditions due to our encapsulation to prevent corrosion.

SEPCO programs each ALC to your project operating parameters.

General Info

Our sealed controller merely plugs into the system wire harness in the battery box. This feature eliminates the risk of damage from external influences (corrosion, dust, water, bugs, chemicals, incorrect wiring). The ALC was developed in accordance with well-established standards incorporating the latest technology, highest-quality and best possible cost / performance ratio.

LED Status Indicators – During normal operation only a green LED should be present. A blinking green LED indicates that the controller recognizes daytime and should be charging. A solid green LED indicates that the controller recognizes nighttime and the load should be on. There is a five-minute delay from the time the LED indicator changes from blinking to solid or from solid to blinking before the load is turned on or off. If either of the red LED indicators are on or blinking consult
