A: Drawers are to be lockable. Combination/keypad/pin number locking mechanism

1. Refer to Sheet GI-002, General Note 2. There are multiple places in the drawings that require the contractor to “salvage” existing materials, or turn over to the Government existing materials, or protect and save existing materials. However, no specifics are given on what any of these items are. Will it be acceptable for the successful offeror to do a detailed site walk with the COR after award contract to determine what does and does not remain and what does and does not get demoed out and disposed of?

1. Refer to Sheets AS-121, AS-121.1, and AS-121.2 and General Note N. on each drawing. The note says that flooring depressions are shown as dashed lines. We can find no dashed lines. Clarify.

A: Misplaced note. Please see depressed areas on demolition plan.

1. Additionally, we assume that we are to use Ardex to fill in the floor depressions (once we receive clarification on where the floor depressions are located). Is this correct?

A: if not specified in the contract documents, this will be “means and methods”

A: GC is to follow manufacturers/vendors instructions.

53. If the VA will install the patient lift tracks, and the successful offeror is putting in place the required framing, ceiling reinforcement, structural layout and other key items required to safely support the patient lift tracks, provide information needed to complete this task.

A: GC is to follow manufacturers/vendors instructions.

1. Refer to Sheets AS-415 and AS-416. Verify the locations of the required FECs (Fire Extinguisher Cabinets). In some places the annotation FEC and the dashed line representing the fire extinguisher cabinets line up perfectly. In other instances, they do not. When the two don’t line up, which governs the required location for the FECs.

A: Line work governs

A: Dimensions will be provided to awarded contractor. Final placement will be coordinated between the GC and the VA.

1. Is spray foam insulation required for any portion of the project? If yes, specify where and provide a specification on the foam required.

A: Please follow construction documents.

1. Refer to Sheet AS-610. For the doors listed as Existing, are we to sand and repaint the frames and doors?

A: Yes

1. Refer to Sheet AS-610. There are ten (10) doors listed as having a required 45 minute fire rating. The fire rating for all other doors is blank and we assume that those doors are not required to be fire rated. If we are incorrect on this assumption, provide an updated Door Schedule that shows the required fire rating for all new doors to be installed.

A: Assumption is correct.

1. Refer to Sheet AS-630, Room Finish Schedule. The window treatments for Rooms AJ22 and AK46 are listed as “Opaque.” We assume this means to paint the window black on both sides. If we are incorrect, clarify what is required.
