The ARS is adding the Lab to the emergency power, Revised Qu: Appendix B.3: Design Narrative: Confirm backup power is only for the Life Safety Circuits only and is to be included in the TI. If additional circuits are to be on emergency power, it is likely the size of the unit cannot be determined until the DIDs are finalized with the areas and overall building load is determined, otherwise provide the size of the generator to determine the cost. The ARS is adding the Lab to the emergency power, A . All Questions as to costs inclusion in TI (Tenant Improvements) are directed to reference Exhibit O, TICS Tables Tab titled “Shell TI Definitions”.
The WASAU CBOC is similar in size and purpose as the La Crosse CBOC. The size generator determined for that clinic is 140- KW generator. Assume the same size unit for estimating purposes. Items on emergency power that might be atypical are laboratory refrigerator, HVAC, medical gas pumps, security system, Omnicell, IT/Communications, and printers used for generating orders and prescriptions. The Physical Security Design Manual 9.2 and the Electrical Design Manual provides additional guidance on back-up power. Diesel fueled engines are required.

• The construction project should include all Cat6A cabling from rooms to a contractor-installed rack and associated patch panels.
• VA is responsible for installing data switches and making connections from the patch panels to the switches
• The number of data plates and cables per wall is governed by our IT construction standards
• The facility is likely big enough that we’d ask that the IT room be expanded to support 3 racks. Needed dimensions are in the attached.
• All power in rooms associated with IT jacks should be 4 gang boxes
See appendix E. - Tomah VAMC OI&T Construction Standards
