About this file
This document includes an addendum and description of a federal solicitation for replacing patient room doors at a Veterans Affairs medical center. The addendum specifies that due to limited space in intensive care unit corridors, construction crews may be unable to utilize an anteroom during door replacements. As such, additional infection control and risk assessment measures are required, including donning clean protective equipment, clothing, head, and shoe covers when traversing between the construction area and other parts of the sixth floor ICU. The solicitation seeks bids to provide all labor, materials, equipment, logistics, and supervision necessary to replace primary entrance and patient room doors in the ICU suite with new doors featuring access control capabilities. The work must be performed according to project specifications and drawings, include infection control measures up to level 4, and be phased to accommodate patient care. Bids are due via email by the date specified in solicitation number 36C24923B0016. The selected contractor will replace doors at a Veterans Affairs medical center to improve infection control in the intensive care unit.

2. Keep PPE in the work area in clean sealed containers to prevent contact.
