About this file
This document is a Response to Request for Information (RFI) regarding electrical power sources for pumps in a basement area. Clark Nexsen conducted research on existing design drawings (I-E8 and I-E13) and determined that all power requirements for the basement are currently served from power panels and motor control centers located on the first floor.
The response instructs the contractor to individually address each basement power requirement, considering factors such as voltage, horsepower, motor location, emergency power needs, and identifying the closest corresponding power supply with adequate capacity. Attached reference documents include as-built drawings of the basement, riser diagram, first floor power plans, and power schedules from 1966. The contractor is advised to use these drawings only as a guide and perform a field survey to verify existing panel locations and available spaces. Additionally, the contractor must comply with National Electrical Code 220.87.

RESPONSE TO CN #8501, RFI #4-POWER FOR PUMPS
Clark Nexsen has researched the available reference documents and determined the following. The original design drawing I-E8 (Electrical Riser Diagram) and I-E13 (Basement Plan) show no electrical power sources located in the basement. All power requirements for the basement area are served from power panels and/or motor control centers located on the first floor.
The contractor will be required to address each basement power individually based on voltage and horsepower of each motor, location within the basement, whether it is required to be on an emergency power system or normal, and closest corresponding power supply with adequate capacity.
Attached for reference are best available as built drawings of the basement, riser diagram, first floor power plans, and power schedules. Note the design date is 1966. Contractor should use only as a guide for field survey to verify determine existing panel locations and spaces/spares.
Contractor is responsible to comply with requirements of National Electrical Code 220.87.
