Project No. 534-CSI-555 Clarifications to Questions Proposed
Question is:
1. Please indicate whether maglocks are needed on the three COR2AA doors. They are not shown as required but will likely be needed with this system.
ANSWER: Maglocks are required and reflected on Contract Documents required for this project. One place that it is noted is on Dwg No. E-002, under Detail 16 for “Door Operator Wiring Diagram”.
2. General Demo Note 13 - -dispose of materials offsite….Does this mean we are not allowed to have a construction dumpster, or we are hauling materials off site daily/weekly.
ANSWER: Contractor dumpster will not be allowed on site. Either the materials must be hauled off, as noted by requirements of construction documents, OR “The Awarded Construction Contractor may utilize the VA Engineering Medical Center open dumpster located at the back dock as long as VA COR’s requirements are met. (VA COR’s requirements are not to overfill the dumpster, keep area clean and inside dumpster, and note that this is a shared dumpster amongst several Construction Contractors and the VA Medical Center.)
3. Mechanical Note AHU-15 notes an 8 ton unit in the mechanical room. Is this for the GE Equipment Cabinets only?
ANSWER: This AHU-15 is for cooling the mechanical room only of the components that GE for the Cardiac Cath Equipment; so the answer is YES.
4. Telecommunications-Is there existing cable tray overhead or is this to be installed.
ANSWER: Cable tray shall be construction contractor’s responsibility to install in this solicitation.
5. Are the Card Readers the responsibility of the contractor? Is so, does the facility have vendor information?
ANSWER: PACS Card Readers are the responsibility of the construction contractor for this solicitation. Specification Section 28 13 00 – Physical Access Control System is attached and is required to be added to the requirements of this solicitation. NOTE that Table of Contents for Specifications although not edited will now also include this in the Table of Contents.

6. Question/Clarification regarding Addendum 1 – Note IV: Removal of flooring and paint to include AA237A, not the responsibility of the equipment manufacturer. AA237A will need flooring installed prior to installation of AHU-16 that supplies the laminar flow system, is this a floor mounted unit.
ANSWER/CLARIFICATION: Room AA237A shall be included in this construction solicitation for flooring, ceiling, and paint work. Basically, all work required on Dwg Number AS-102.2 Detail 1 labeled “PARTIAL SECOND FLOOR DEMOLITION PLAN – PHASE 3” work is included in this construction solicitation and shall be included as such.
7. Addendum 1 – Note VI: AS-102.2 Keyed Note 4 Indicates removal of doors. Does this apply to all doors with Keyed Note 4, as indicated on drawings?
ANSWER/CLARIFICATION: Construction Contractor in this Solicitation shall remove and dispose of the door(s) of Scrub Room (Room AA221) to Corr 2AA3 as shown on Dwg No. AS-102.2 Key Note 4; and Ward Supplies (Room AA204) to Corr 2AA1.
