ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS AND PROJECT INFORMATION:
1. There is an Access Control System indicated on the drawings but no specifications provided. We would need to know what Manufacturer they want for this system so that we can provide applicable pricing.
VA RESPONSE: Door Card Reader: HID pivCLASS RKCLB40-P (product must be HID compatible)
1. They show a few triangles indicating Telecom outlets/requirements but the legend doesn’t say how many cables each of these locations get nor is there an outlet detail to provide this information either. We would need to know how many cables they want at these locations.
VA RESPONSE: Please see addendum for additional information.
1. There is a required CCTV system in which they reference the need for head end equipment/NVR in the specs but this appears to be an existing building since we were only given partial floorplans. We would need to know if we are to use an existing CCTV system or if this will be a stand alone system. If stand alone system we would need to know how long they want to retain video footage so that we can size the NVR appropriately.
VA RESPONSE: Existing cameras in the facility and basis of design are Aviligon model # H5A-FE-D01-IR (Fisheye 360° 12MP Infrared). Existing CCTV system is to be used. Facility IT is to handle back-end programming once contractor installs cameras and runs/patches ethernet to existing server rack in B247.
1. There is language on the drawings that we are to “provide connections back to IT room approx. 125’ away” but the specs make it seem like these are new standalone systems (telecom, CCTV, Intrusion Detection). This is a big question mark that sticks out the most to be honest.
VA RESPONSE: Security Cameras and Data Outlets in the basement scope are currently routed to telecom closet B209 and B222, respectfully. Security Cameras/Data Outlets in the 6th floor scope are currently routed 1 floor directly below to telecom closet 5A109. These rooms are highlighted in the below floor plans.
3.
3.
1. This question piggybacks on the question above (#4). There is no telecom room shown on the plans for either of the areas that we were provided drawings for. Are we to assume that there is existing racks and patch panels for us to terminate our cabling and equipment on or would we need to provide racks, patch panels, etc.?
VA Response: New data cabling within the basement floor scope shall be routed to telecom closet B247. New data cabling within the 6th floor scope shall be routed 1 floor directly below to telecom closet 5A109. Racks and switches are existing/VA provided.
1. Section 28 13 00, PHYSICAL ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS: Card readers and biometric devices – is missing from the specifications. Please provide this section.
VA RESPONSE: Specification is included in this addendum.
1. Is there a current vendor servicing the card readers and door security controls?
VA RESPONSE: The current security controls contractor is Electronic Specialty Company, PO Box 400, 1325 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar WV 25064
