About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for duct cleaning services at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The solicitation seeks a contractor to clean ducts facility-wide, including air distribution units, exhaust systems, kitchen hoods, and clothes dryer vents. It is a set-aside contract for verified service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses with a base year and four option years. The contractor must be certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America but National Air Duct Cleaners Association certification may substitute. The contractor will be responsible for quarterly invoicing itemizing completed line items. Temporary cooling will not be required as most work occurs evenings when units are shut down. Certified payrolls rather than Davis-Bacon wages apply.
