Amendment# 4 Q&A

1. For clarity on items 1001, 2001, 3001, and 4001 are you requesting 25 additional Gateways be installed every year? One-time installation and possible required maintenance afterward as needed

2. For clarity on items 1002, 2002, 3002, and 4002 are you requesting 25 additional wireless sensors be installed every year? One-time installation and possible additional requests from the end-users as needed

3. For clarity on items 1003, 2003, 3003, and 4003 are you requesting 25 new temperature sensors with 2-year calibration be installed every year? One-time installation and possible additional requests from the end-users as needed 4. For clarity on items 1004, 2004, 3004, and 4004 are you requesting 25 new Temp/ Hum sensors with 2-year calibration be installed every year? One-time installation and possible additional requests from the end-users as needed 5. For clarity on items 1005, 2005, 3005, and 4005 are you requesting 25 new expanded range temperature sensors with 2-year calibration be installed every year? One-time installation and possible additional requests from the end-users as needed

6. For clarity on items 1006, 2006, 3006, and 4006 are you requesting 25 new temperature sensors with 2-year calibration be installed every year? One-time installation and possible additional requests from the end-users as needed

7. For clarity on items 1007, 2007, 3007, and 4007 is this installation of my questions 1-6? One-time initial training upon system installation and subsequent additional training from the end-users as needed will be invoiced accordingly.

8. Line items 1008 and 1011 appear to be the same? This would also apply to option years 2, 3, and The COR will call for the service if needed and will invoice the bill if it cannot be done in-house.

1. On-site installation of the devices has been removed for the base year. Does VA intend to install the devices themselves, or should we include this cost in another base year line item? – We would need the device installed in the base year, I hope that was not an error in the RFP

2. Pricing of Annual Services:

Digi Annual Asset Monitoring: Each year the Digi solution requires Asset Monitoring per device. This is the necessary service fee for cloud reporting, alerting, data services and customer support. Should monitoring indicate an unresolvable issue with a device the customer typically just purchases a new device if outside of the one year manufacturer's warranty and installs on their own. (Note: this process is plug and play – easily installs in minutes)

VA added the annual item "Preventive Maintenance and Services after the "warranty expiration" from initial install. This includes onsite/telephone support, and software updates." Ongoing phone and email customer support is part of the Digi annual service above, but our Annual Service does not include device warranty outside the one year manufacturer warranty nor onsite support.

Should we list the Digi Annual Service as a separate item, or just include under the annual item "Preventive Maintenance and Services after the "warranty expiration" from initial install. This includes onsite/telephone support, and software updates." and call out what is and is not included in

Digi standard annual service? - Yes

3. Biannual Probe Recalibration:

Every two years our probes should be recalibrated. We added this per device item to our pricing table in our earlier submission "Probe Recalibrations - Replacement Probes with updated calibration certificates. Total subject to change based on total number of probes to be re-calibrated." The probe attachments are simply swapped out, no sensor re-configuration is involved and on-site service is not needed, but can be requested and ordered if needed. This process is typically handled by VA staff.

To account for recalibration of probes purchases in the base year, we would plan to add recalibration line items to the pricing table for Option Year 2 and Option Year 4. Any probes purchased in Option Year 1 would need this performed in Option Year 3. This is okay for the proposal as explained by the vendor since it’s their service-specific issue.

Can you please answer the question below:

I was just forwarded your solicitation and am preparing a proposal. Based on the areas where these sensors will be deployed I’m assuming a system validation (IOQ Qualification) is needed? Also, your request highlights NIST traceable, are ISO17025 Accredited calibrations not required?

The ISO17025 would be by default incorporated by reference since we have a calibration requirement.

NIST almost always incorporate ISO17025 whenever use this link as an example.
