NOTE: BE SURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AMENDMENTS ON OFFER SHEET FOR ACCEPTANCE

First Set of RFI’s RFI 1: Requirements on Temporary Fuel Tanks (UL, Containment %, etc.)

Response:

Temporary tanks for generator support should be UL-142 minimum, installed per NFPA 30. Depending on the temp tank, EPA almost always requires secondary containment sized to 110% of tank volume, however an integral double walled containment tank counts as secondary containment in most cases (something like UL-2085). Will get more information on the different UL’s and provide a follow up.

RFI 2: Seismic Requirements Response:

All equipment and anchorage shall comply with applicable VA seismic requirements for essential systems. Contractor shall provide anchorage and seismic restraint details with submittals for review and approval.

RFI 3: Condition of Existing Main Fuel Oil Tank Fuel Response:

Existing fuel condition is not guaranteed. Contractor shall verify fuel quality and provide testing and/or filtration as necessary to safely execute the scope of work.

RFI 4: Engineering Submittals Required Response:

Yes. Contractor shall provide product data, equipment specifications, fuel system schematics, rigging plans, anchorage details, and testing procedures for Government review and approval prior to procurement and installation.

RFI 5: Equipment Delivery Timeline After Award Response:

Equipment shall be provided in accordance with the contract period of performance to meet the required completion timeline.

RFI 6: Period of Performance Start Date Response:

The period of performance shall commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed unless otherwise specified in the contract award documents.

RFI 7: Trade Unions Response:

Applicable trades shall comply with the Davis-Bacon wage determinations included in the solicitation.

RFI 8: Permits / Filings Response:

Monitoring During Temporary Bypass Response:

Contractor shall provide appropriate supervision and monitoring of temporary fuel systems in accordance with fire safety requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable codes.

Bypass Testing / Load Bank Response:

Testing and commissioning shall be performed in accordance with the PWS and applicable codes. Testing plans shall be submitted for Government review prior to execution.

RFI 2

Circuit Breaker Details Response:
