About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the project "528A6-24-612 Connect PIV's to fire alarm system" dated 2025-12-12, involving fire alarm system work at the Bath VA facility. The RFI addresses multiple technical and regulatory questions, with affirmative responses regarding compliance with numerous NFPA and UFC fire protection standards, including NFPA 1, 4, 13, 70, 72, and 101, and UFC 3-600-01, 3-601-02, and 4-021-01. Key requirements include utilizing NICET-certified technicians, having technicians with a New York State Security and Fire Alarm Systems Installer's license, performing a 100% fire alarm system test with government presence, and conducting a 24-hour battery test prior to the alarm test.

The document also confirms that drawings E001-E005 and FA001-FA103 apply specifically to Building B-78, and clarifies that Johnson Controls is acceptable to perform work previously specified for Honeywell-trained personnel, as Johnson Controls holds the Bath VA Service Contract and is considered a same-source/company with Honeywell for this project. The RFI references specification sections 00 01 15 (List of Drawings), the Statement of Work, and specification 28 31 00 (Fire Detection and Alarm) as key supporting documents for the technical requirements and scope of work.
