This number is available on a 24-hour basis.
The NORTHPORT VA MEDICAL CENTER Cogen Facility, the operators of the generation, is responsible for the operation of the associated electrical equipment. Any communication relative to the operation and/or access of that system should be made with NORTHPORT VA MEDICAL CENTER personnel at the telephone numbers in Appendix I. These contact telephone numbers are to be available on a 24-hour basis.
NORTHPORT VA MEDICAL CENTER shall adhere to all LIPA & T&D Manager’s safety and clearance procedures in accordance with Appendix V, when working on LIPA premises.
ARTICLE III – INTERCONNECTION
NORTHPORT VA MEDICAL CENTER is a primary metered customer with two (2) 13kV circuit feeds (6RL-765 and 6P-5H5) coming into their existing and new outdoor switchgears. The Cogeneration system shall only operate in parallel with feeder 6P-5H5. If the generation facility is disconnected as a result of the operation of a protective device, the generator-owner’s equipment shall remain disconnected until LIPA’s service voltage and frequency have recovered to acceptable voltage and frequency limits for a minimum of five (5) minutes. The generator needs manual restart if generator breaker is tripped.
The interconnected facility contains 2000 kW AC Cogen system. The facility is interconnected to a
13.2 KV LIPA distribution feeder 6P-5H5. The interconnection includes customer owned primary cable from the primary meter (detented meter) to the new Primary metering enclosures and customer owned new switchgear house, there is also a 2500kva customer owned transformer.
The system includes a SEL 351-A relay and a SEL-700 generator protection relay. The line of demarcation of operating responsibility is as shown on the attached one-line diagram (Appendix II).
A utility disconnect switch has been installed, to provide LIPA with a disconnect point from feeder 6P-5H5.
