Stratton VA Medical Center Response

Q6: The following specifications are listed on the table of contents but were not provided in the bid package:

23 21 11 (Boiler Plant Piping System) 23 21 23 (Hydronic Pumps) However, specification sheet 23 21 13 (Hydronic Piping) was included in the bid package but is not listed on the TOC. Could you please clarify and provide the appropriate specification sheets.

A6: Please refer to the attached updated TOC. Specification sections 232111 and 232123 have been removed. Specification section 232113 has been added.

Q7: On Drawing A-001, Coded Note #2 says, “Counter and associated equipment to remain”. This will pose an obstacle during the project. Can this be removed and re-installed at the end of the project? If so, where can it be placed during the project? (See attached photo)

A7: This “counter and associated equipment” is a work station. It appears that the contractor can remove it during construction, cover it, and store it for re-installation.

Additional Information on Drawing M-005

1. 11A Part Plan Room A1105b – There is an existing abandoned duct, approximately 18”x18”, located above the corridor ceiling which appears to be made of duct board. The contractor shall remove and dispose of portions of this duct as needed to install the transfer ducts.

2. 11A Existing Mechanical Room – A supervised sprinkler shut off is shown in this room. This shut off only serves the mechanical room and not 11A stem. The shut off for the 11A stem, which also serves the core and the other three stems, is tagged and located in stairwell 4. Contractor shall coordinate with the VA plumbing shop and COR on shutting down the sprinkler system for this area.
