Legend:

Black = Original Scope document provided during solicitation.

Red = Scope Clarifications

General:

1. All work shall confirm to current local, State, Federal, and VA standards and regulations as of February 2024.

2. All reference drawings provided may not be to scale.

3. All penetrations through walls or floor that are exposed due to demolition or new installation shall be sealed or repaired per current fire code requirements. Any repairs should match existing surrounding finishes (paint or floor tiles).

4. ICRA and ILSM shall require negative air for each phase/area of construction such as partial PDR room, MK KEH area, MK CEH area, MK FP area. Coordinate phased work and enclosures with COR accordingly.

5. The contractor shall provide and ensure proper start‐up and related commissioning for all equipment being turned over to VA before moving from one phase to another.

Phase 1 ‐ Preparation for Temporary Kitchen Equipment

1. Remove and dispose of existing fixed equipment not being used in Room 210, the Patient dining room (PDR) to include the steam table, refrigerated counter, and stainless‐steel table. Cut and cap associated utilities (steam, hot and cold water, drain, and electric) below floor and seal floor to match existing surrounding floor type.

a. All pipes (Steam, hot & cold water, drains) should be demoed below floor to the nearest angle fitting.

All pipes have an angle fitting within 15‐25 feet below finish floor. Following photos are attached for reference.

i. PDR Wall counter pipes above freezer 110A to demo

ii. PDR Wall counter pipes above freezer 110A

iii. Scope 1.1 Pipes

iv. Scope 1.1 Water Pipe

2. Remove and dispose of existing concrete block wall supporting the refrigerated counter. Repair and install flooring and tiles as needed to match existing.

a. The length of wall is less than 30 feet. The width of wall is less than one foot.

b. The existing tiles are Quarry tiles from American Olean manufacturer. Size and color sample shall be approved during submittal process to match existing.

c. The contractor shall follow manufacturer’s recommendations for means and method of installation to match existing surrounding conditions. VA recommends that the tile installation may require using epoxy grout and up to 3” to 4” of mud to be set on a depressed slab upon demolition of wall.

3. Remove and dispose of existing two Small Exhaust Hoods (SEH) and associated accessories to include, but not limited to: electrical, and duct work located in PDR. Also seal the associated roof opening if necessary.

a. Both hoods vent straight up to the roof. The GC shall be responsible for patching EPDM rubber roof upon demolition of the small corner hood and associated accessories.

b. Demolition and roof work for center hood and vent system in PDR room depends on the new hood’s design. The new hood in PDR needs to consider the size and capacity of existing vent and modify the vent/roof opening as necessary. Associated coordination drawing requirements are mentioned in line item 6 below.

c. The Electrical related to both hoods shall be demolished/pulled back to/from panel in penthouse.

4. Remove and reuse or dispose of the fire suppression system related to the above hoods.
