About this file

This document is a Bonfire E-Signature Agreement from the County of Bergen, New Jersey, designed to facilitate electronic procurement and document signing across local government units. The agreement stems from the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) and New Jersey's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), which authorize state and local government agencies to use electronic forms, filing, and signatures for official business. The County of Bergen has partnered with Bonfire, an e-procurement solution, to modernize procurement processes and enable vendors to create a single vendor profile usable across all local units in Bergen County.

The agreement allows authorized vendor representatives to provide an electronic signature valid for one year, which can be used to submit bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), and other offers to participating local units. The signature serves as an official acknowledgment of the vendor's intent to conduct business electronically, with the understanding that the signature is legally binding except where specific local units require unique document formats. By standardizing the e-signature process, the County of Bergen aims to streamline procurement operations and reduce administrative barriers for vendors seeking to do business with local government entities.
