About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to Invitation for Bids 26-002-LH issued by the Macon-Bibb County Government Procurement Department for the Grand Opera House Renovation project. The addendum, issued on August 5, 2023, provides clarifications and modifications to the original bid specifications addressing 16 key questions from prospective bidders. Notable clarifications include specifications for exterior metal doors with PVC applied molding, mirrored glass for custom door openings, and reconciliation of door schedules showing discrepancies between the original 33-door count and the 41-door count shown on elevations. The addendum also clarifies door type designations, confirms that Type E doors are 4070 doors, and removes Note 11 regarding roof and pipe leak investigations. Additional guidance addresses removal requirements for existing flooring and wall finishes, ceiling demolition procedures, brick painting specifications, and cabinet finishes for basement areas. Prospective bidders are directed to contact Frank Wood at the provided phone numbers to schedule additional walkthroughs to verify existing conditions.

The addendum does not address pricing, set-asides, funding sources, or contract terms. Prospective firms are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms and incorporate the specified changes into their proposals. The modifications ensure alignment between the design documents, particularly regarding door schedules and elevations, and establish consistency in specification interpretation across all competing bidders.
