About this file

This document is an interior finishes specification sheet for a federal construction project administered by NAVFAC (Naval Facilities Engineering Command). The specification establishes approved basis of design finishes for various building spaces, including paint, flooring, and trim materials with designated manufacturers and product models to convey color, pattern, texture, and salient characteristics.

Paint specifications include Benjamin Moore 1548 Classic Gray for primary walls, Benjamin Moore 1552 River Reflections for sleeping rooms, and Sherwin Williams products for door frames and exposed surfaces. Flooring materials specified are Mannington luxury vinyl tile products for sleeping rooms and offices, with Schluter transition strips for LVT-to-tile and LVT-to-concrete transitions. Additional finishes include Johnsonite rubber base, Inpro stainless steel corner guards, and Dur-A-Flex epoxy resinous flooring for lounges and shared spaces. The specification permits equivalent products from other manufacturers meeting the listed criteria, subject to project manager review and NAVFAC Contracting Officer approval. Critical requirements mandate that all interior finishes in vertical exit ways, exit lobbies, and exit corridors meet minimum Class A rating; electrical panels and expansion joints must be spray-painted to match adjacent wall colors; all materials must be installed per manufacturer requirements; and all flooring transitions must comply with ABA guidelines with transitions under doors centered. The contractor bears responsibility for ordering all materials in sufficient time to avoid project delays, and finish items cannot be substituted due to ordering lead times.
